A Nappy holder bag, stack nappies inside ready to be used.

  • Fabric Requirements.

  • This pattern uses two colour fabric’s.
  • Fabric 1 - 1 metre.
  • Fabric 2 - 1 metre.
  • Cut.

  • Two pieces 7.5" x 22.5" from fabric 1 - piece 1.
  • One piece 14.5" x 22.5" from fabric 2 - piece 2.
  • Two pieces 22.5" x 9.5" from fabric 2 - piece 3.
  • One piece 14.5" x 7.5" from fabric 2 - piece 4.
  • One piece 14.5" x 9.5" from fabric 2 - piece 5.
  • Two pieces 22.5" x 2" from fabric 2 - piece 6.
  • Two pieces 2" x 12" from fabric 2 - piece 7.
  • Cut two pieces of velcro an inch long.

To Make.

fold binding.1.To make a front panel. Fold a piece 6 in half and finger press, unfold the fabric . Fold one of the edges to the centre line and finger press. Do the same with the other edge.

Sew on to back of front panel.Place the piece 6 on the wrong side of a piece1. Using the folds as a guide sew the two pieces together. Press the seam.

Over lock seam.Then over lock the edge of the seam this will help keep the inside of the bag tidy and stop the seams fraying.

Fold over the front of the panel. 2. Fold the piece six in half over the front of the piece 1, figure 4.

Pin in place.Turn the edge of piece 6 under to bind the edge pin in place.

Place the needle on the edge of the fold and carefully sew down the length of the fabric.Sew in place.

3. Make another of the front panels.two front panels.

Velcro on binding.4. Sew the velcro on each of the front panels binding to hold the front closed, place the velcro a couple of inches above and below the middle of the panels.

Sew the side on. 5. To make the sides. Place a piece 3 one the front of one of the front panels the side that has not got the binding on. Sew the pieces together, over lock the seam. Do the same with the other piece 3.

Adding the back of the bag. 6. To add the back. Take the piece 4 place it over one of the two sides and sew the pieces together. Add the other side to the back.

Adding the bottom of the bag. 7. To make the bottom. Place the binding on the front over each other make sure the velcro meet before sewing from the bottom about six inches up the front.

Pin  the bottom of the bag. 8. Take piece 5 and pin it to the bottom of the body of the bag. Place the fabric under the foot of the machine make sure the body of the bag is out of the way.

Placing fabric under the foot. When you get to the corner leave the needle down but lift the foot swivel the fabric round, make sure the excess is out of the way bring the foot back down and carry on sewing. Do this for each corner.

9. Figure 16 shows the bottom when it has been turn inside out. Finished bottom of the bag from the outside.

Bag turn the rightway out. 10. To make the top. Place the body of the bag on a flat surface, fold the sides in half. Fold the sides in half.

Fold the top corners.11. At the top of the bag fold the corners to make a triangle at the top. Fold the sides in half and pin in place. Pin in place.

Do the same with the other side.Do the same on the other corner.

12. Place piece 5 over the front of the bag and sew in place.

To make the top.

Hooks.13. Fold a piece 7 in half and finger press, unfold the fabric . Fold one of the edges to the centre line and finger press. Do the same with the other edge. Pin in place, then sew down the edge. Do the same with the other piece 7.

Add the top and hooks.14. Fold the piece 5 over to the back of the bag. Fold the piece 7's in half an pin to the back of the bag so the ends go under the piece 5.

Pin in place.Turn the edge of piece 5 under making sure the ends of piece 7's are under where the sewing line will go, pin in place. Fold the side edges of piece 5, pin in place.

Sew in place begin at a top corner near the edge and carefully sew round the edge.
